YOUR VOTE IS IMPORTANT - VOTE HALEY CAMP
This June, every candidate will be looking for your vote.
So what makes me worthy of yours?
I’m standing because I believe Guernsey needs leadership that’s focused, honest and ready to deliver real progress. I bring a mix of experience and determination that I believe makes me well suited to serve in the next States.
Obviously, you want to know who you'd be voting for.
I’ve built a career in the finance industry over the last 20+ years, all while raising my son as a single mum for the last 19 years. When I returned home after university, like most, I started from scratch but had the added complication of becoming a mum. I dug deep and went from holding trainee positions, working my way up the ladder to managing director of a fund administration company, all whilst balancing the school run and carting my son to music and theatre lessons. I also qualified as a barrister, pretty much once my son was in bed.
It wasn’t always easy, but it taught me how to roll my sleeves up, solve problems, stay focused and keep going when things get tough; all hallmarks of my "can do" attitude. It's also taught me how to be disciplined with money, often making very little go very far.
Outside the boardroom, you'll find me involved in local theatre — singing or acting or, occasionally, handling the chaos of directing - or with a paintbrush in hand.
I bring energy, creativity and a firm belief that Guernsey can do better — and I’m ready to help make that happen.
I’ve worked in senior roles across finance, operations and compliance sectors. I know how to plan long-term, manage risk and stay focused on outcomes — not distractions.
I’ve been brought into struggling businesses to refocus, restructure and rebuild. That means I understand how to prioritise, challenge the status quo and deliver results under pressure.
I know how regulation, tax and economic policy play out in practice — not just on paper. That gives me credibility in debate and clarity on what’s workable.
I’ve challenged weak governance models, resisted political drift and spoken plainly where others won’t. I do it respectfully, but I don’t shy away from hard truths.
I chose to step away from a high-flying career to focus on Guernsey because I believe we must do better — and I’m ready to help lead that change.
Whether it’s through campaigning, writing or speaking, I know how to explain complex issues clearly and bring people with me — not just talk at them.
Guernsey is my home and I benefitted from an excellent education system, allowing me to level-up and continue in higher education, finally qualifying as a barrister.
Working variously across funds, fiduciary and compliance, I've built up a reputation for excellence, pragmatism and integrity in everything I do. I held managerial positions very early on in my career, variously holding "Head of", Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer roles and, latterly, was appointed to the post of Managing Director (chief executive) at the age of 40. As a small business owner, I have had the additional experiences of taking a risk and building something from scratch.
I have been entrusted with significant roles on the Guernsey Investment & Funds Association (GIFA) for the last 11 years, including the last two years as its Executive Chair. GIFA represents a key part of the finance sector, employing thousands on the island, and takes on responsibility for liaison with government, regulator and other major stakeholders as the voice of the industry.
I completed a two-year term on the Guernsey International Business Association, which represents the whole of finance (employing 17.7% of the island's workforce). During that time, I helped feed into discussions on tax and education and met with multiple politicians and ambassadors from Guernsey and further afield. I also got "innovation and economic growth" on GIBA's agenda as its Number 1 priority for 2024 and 2025.
In my association roles, I was able to champion local education standards, meeting regularly with Education officials at the highest executive and political levels. I was fortunate enough to join the Interim Governance Board of The Guernsey Institute during 2024, enabling me to build my own knowledge up. My proudest achievement is pioneering the inaugural GIFA careers fayre for 15-18 year-olds to engage directly with those starting out on their own careers and hear about the diverse range of opportunities across administration, accounting, law, compliance and other key career paths within the financial services sector.
More than just my professional interests, I take great pride in my artistic pursuits as an aspiring artist, a singer and an actor. 2025 has been a great year so far, allowing me to direct my first show, an all-female production exploring the best of the female voice in musicals, and to take on the huge responsibility of portraying the pie-making Mrs Lovett in "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street", which takes to the stage in June.
My proudest achievement is my boy; a bright, well-rounded young man who some may recognise as an awesome bass guitarist in Guernsey's music scene. Now 19, he's taking the opportunity to study aerospace engineering off-island. I pray that he is able to come home at some future point - I wish to craft a future that makes coming home a realistic goal for our young people.
